On the 8th of April 2019, U.S. President Donald Trump has labelled Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organisation and soon after the sanction details against this terrorist organisation will be revealed.
After nearly 40 years of IRGC establishment, although this U.S. government decision was taken late, but the Iranian oppressed people especially the Kurdish people welcome the designation, since the first place where the regime’s guards’ committed their inhuman and terrorist actions was in Kurdistan region. The fact that IRGC, in its composition, is a suppressor, terrorist as well as an interventionist force in proximal and distal countries, especially countries in the Middle East is obvious not only for the Iranian people but for most of the other countries as well, so listing Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization is an appropriate decision.
The U.S. president’s decision is announced almost 4 decades after the terrorist Revolutionary Guard started its crimes through killing, arresting, kidnapping against the oppressed Iranian nations and in particular against the Kurdish people, bombardment and missile attacks against the Kurdish groups bases, inside and outside the country. While, this designation was necessary to announce long before USA, EU should have taken such an action since the majority of the terrorist attacks committed by the Revolutionary Guards have been done on their soil and against their sovereignty. Even after the assassination of Gholam Keshawarz in Larnaca, Cyprus and Mr Sedigh Kamangar in Kurdistan region – Iraq, and later the assassination of Dr. Qasemlou in Vienna, the Revolutionary Guards true nature became apparent, and furthermore the terror plot against Dr. Sharafkandi and his associates in Berlin fallowed by the German judiciary system’s determination to investigate the terror to reach the final decision by a legendary western court which proved that the Islamic republic of Iran and its intelligence organisation’s highest decision makers have ordered the terror plot. Unfortunately, the Europeans reacted with only a few ineffective actions like calling home their ambassadors for a short period of time.
Currently the IRGC is not only a suppressive military force but in the last 4 decades, it has gained controls over all economic, political and military decision-making centres to guard the foundations of clergymen’s absolute rule and prolonging the Islamic Republic’s evil power and by creating its elite Quds Force it uses all every capabilities and terrorist actions. The IRGC has been the executor of the regime’s expansional policies whish is called exporting the Islamic revolution abroad and by creating tens of terrorist organizations under different names interfering in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon to create a Shiite Crescent establishment in the Middle East. Currently, the IRGC supporting 15 Shiite extremist armed groups in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon economically and logistically, therefore an effective sanction would be an effective blow to the enormous wealth which the IRGC has collected and is used for its survival.
Considering the fact that in some surrounding countries, both the IRGC forces and U.S. troops are based which increases the chances of military confrontation and the IRGC and Iranian regime are responsible accordingly as they advocate terrorism and instability in all clashes in the region. At the same time, the EU extends its sanctions for a year against Iran due to Human Rights violations despite EU commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), expresses the fact that, EU cannot be silent against the Islamic Republic Regime’s terrorist and destabilizing policies. Especially in the last two years in some European countries the IRGC’s terror plots in some European countries have been discovered, in addition the complaint against the Islamic republic’s missiles development have been submitted to the Secretary General of the United Nations.
